This class will help your students try new foods, learn basic cooking skills and techniques they can use daily to help in the kitchen at home. We will also explore basic gardening concepts and its connection to the kitchen using and learning about the fruits and vegetables that are currently in season. We will also explore where our food and recipes have originated from including the different cultures, countries, and cuisines. My goal is to give the students a worldly perspective of different cuisines and to have them understand the connection between where our food is grown and how to utilize these ingredients to their fullest potential to create healthy and delicious meals. This class is for all skill levels. If your student is more advanced, I will make sure to challenge them with more difficult concepts and techniques.
Please note: I am happy to try to make accommodations for those students who are gluten and dairy free by choice. Unfortunately, I cannot make accommodations for those with severe food allergies as cross contamination can happen and I do not have a gluten/dairy/or nut free kitchen. Organic fruits/vegetables and other organic foods are used when possible but not exclusively. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out and we can discuss.
